Good Day Allan.
I agree with all of your sentiments regarding the TV-IP512WN. Have bought one but cannot get it to work over the internet via a dyndns updater siter. I do not know whether it iss settings in my Router (have both the Billion BiPac 7402nx and the Marconi (as supplied by our Telkom ) .

Any suggestions?

IPview software – has motion detection. also, there are free programs that have it, also.

Hi Ken,

Yes you can, in the slingbox player you have a virtual remote the look like your normal remote, and it sends commands to your settop box with a infared transmitter you put on the settopbox

Good review man, was looking at getting some of these setup for a security situation, though i hope the camera can record to a server for a set amount of time.
